SIMS Parent and SIMS Learning Gateway

Some of you may have logins for SIMS Learning Gateway, our previous way for you to be able to view various information about your son/daughter but this is about to be phased out.  The replacement product we are about to launch is called SIMS Parent and you will receive an email inviting you to register within the next couple of weeks.

SIMS Parent

SIMS Parent will allow you to view your son / daughter’s timetable, attendance and achievement information.  You can also see progress reports that we publish to the account at regular intervals.  You will be able to see your own contact details and update them via the app.  We will then pick up the change request, and action at our end.  You will receive a notification once your change has been actioned.

SIMS Parent is accessible via computer desktop or via an app on your phone once you have set up your account.

If you have children at more than one school, you are able to link the app to other schools that are also using SIMS Parent.  Avonbourne and Avonwood are automatically linked.  If you have a child at Avonbourne or Avonwood AND Harewood, you will need to link the schools/colleges via the app. If you have children at more than one school, you must register the second child with the same log in process be it Facebook, Gmail, etc. If you use a different log in method, the two accounts will not link.

Instructions on how to register for SIMS Parent will be available in the email you receive.

If you do not receive an email invitation in the next couple of weeks, please contact the College/school via the simsparent@avonbournetrust.org specifically for this process.  Please ensure that you include in your email, the student’s name and your own details.

If you have not registered an email address with us, please also get in touch.

SIMS Parent - Getting Started

  1. We will send an invitation to the email address we have in our database for you.  This email will contain a link and will explain that we are inviting you to join our new online portal. PLEASE NOTE.  The email will not come from school but from noreply@sims.co.uk.  You may need to check your Spam or Junk folders in order to find it. If you do not receive an email, please contact the college / school via the email address set up specifically for this process – simsparent@avonbournetrust.org Please ensure that you include in your email, the student’s name and your own details.
  2. Click on the link in the email. You may do this from a PC, tablet or a smartphone.
  3. You will be asked to log in using one of the options shown on the right (excluding the SIMS ID option) using an existing account.
  4. As a security measure, you will be asked for the date of birth of one of your children at the school / college.

Once the registration process is complete, you are able to download the free app from either Google Play or the App Store.  You will need to log in once you have downloaded the app using the same credentials as those you have used in the steps above.

The URL for subsequent visits to the website once you are registered is:
